Old Farm Window

OldFarmBuildingWindow
Old Farm Window, gouache and pen on watercolour paper

This painting was inspired by my father-in-laws farm. My husband, as a boy, painted all the woodwork on the farm red one summer. Now the buildings are slowly being replaced with new modern ones and the traditional styles are all disappearing. I had to paint this window before it disappeared too.

Bluebells I, 16 x 23cm (6 x 9″), gouache on watercolour paper, £30

No matter how often I paint them, I never get tired of bluebells. I think purple has definitely got something to do with it. I have to admit I love the contrasting colours of purple and orange together.

Sunset I is for sale on Etsy, Artfinder and artgallery.

Sunset I, 16 x 23cm (6 x 9″), gouache on watercolour paper, £30

I’m happily working away on lots of wee paintings just now. It’s not a size I’m used to, but I’m loving the spontaneity of using gouache and just going with the flow, as it were.

I have just completely changed my front garden with the help of donations from my Mum. But. Whenever you get plants from her garden, there are always a few hidden gems among the plants. In this case not only did I gain grasses, I got a number of Californian Poppies which are happily reseeding themselves in their new home.

New Website Design

tracy_butler_art_website

I have always created my own websites, but the last one was a nightmare to edit and keep up to date. Now I have new software and I settled to work on something that is so much more manageable.

I’d appreciate any comments you have (especially if you find links that aren’t working), and let me know what you think.
