I am delighted to announce that I now have a number of products with my work printed on them. There is a large range from phone and tablet cases to bags, mugs and cushions.
Here is a selection of just a few…
A customer at Smithy Gallery, where I am currently exhibiting, took a video of the Affordable Art Show. She mentions my work at about the 1 minute mark, if you would like to see it – here.
Yesterday was a busy day at Smithy Gallery’s Private View, and I loved the way my paintings looked. Here are four of them grouped together on one wall.
While the two below were also on display, I just forgot to take photos – oops.
You can find out more about Smithy Gallery here. The exhibition runs until the 15th July.
This painting was inspired by my father-in-laws farm. My husband, as a boy, painted all the woodwork on the farm red one summer. Now the buildings are slowly being replaced with new modern ones and the traditional styles are all disappearing. I had to paint this window before it disappeared too.
Size: 13 x 18cm (5 x 7″)
Medium: Gouache on watercolour paper
I have just completely changed my front garden with the help of donations from my Mum. But. Whenever you get plants from her garden, there are always a few hidden gems among the plants. In this case not only did I gain grasses, I got a number of Californian Poppies which are happily reseeding themselves in their new home.
It has been so long since I worked in mixed media – I had actually forgotten how much I love it, and the textures I can create. I have used gouache, and layers of hand made papers as well as glues, and materials that will affect the paint.
I am now brimming with ideas for the next painting, so watch this space.
I wanted to be more abstract and experimental with my work. With Nebula, I used oils using brush strokes and brush shapes to dictate what I was doing. Once the paint was dry I worked into it by scraping and sanding back the colours to achieve the different textures you can see here. I love the way the contrasting colours of purple and green work together here.
